Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy spotted while trying to go unnoticed in New Yok: Details

An eagle-eyed passerby reportedly spotted Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy in New York City one week ahead of their court sentencing date in Boston.

An insider speaking to Page Six said the "Desperate Housewives" actress was seemingly trying to go unnoticed on Manhattan's Upper East Side as she walked down Madison Avenue, a street known for its high-end shopping and restaurants.

"He was walking a few steps ahead of her and she was behind him, wearing a baseball cap," Page Six reports. "You wouldn’t have known if you weren’t walking the opposite direction."

To the bystander, it looked like Macy was "protecting her from being noticed or something."

Huffman and Macy are due in court Sept. 13 to face sentencing for their alleged involvement in a nationwide college admissions scandal that implicated dozens of wealthy parents across the country. They are accused of paying alleged ringleader Rick Singer $15,000 to modify their daughter's SAT scores.

Also due for sentencing will be "Fuller House" actress Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, who are accused of paying a whopping $500,000 to ensure their daughters' admissions to University of Southern California.

The two actresses notably approached the massive controversy in very different ways: While Huffman publicly acknowledged her shame and took responsibility for her actions, Loughlin put on a sharp, defiant front, instantly garnering significant (and still ongoing) backlash.

Huffman, also in contrast to Loughlin, plead guilty and took a plea deal, so her fate is less of a question mark than Loughlin's. According to Us Weekly, Loughlin "regrets not doing what Felicity did."
