Kaitlynn Carter shared some new photos of her rumored girlfriend Miley Cyrus on her Instagram Story as the couple celebrated Carter's 31st birthday on Wednesday night.

The series of three black-and-white photos show Cyrus and Carter dressed in complementary ensembles, with the "Slide Away" singer rocking black trousers and a plunging white long-sleeved shirt with her hair in natural waves, while Carter rocks a black mini-dress with shoulder pads and black heels.

The reality TV star didn't caption any of the photos, one of which shows them sharing a candid laugh together. While this was the first time that Miley has appeared in Kaitlynn's Instagram since their romance was made public, she did appear in two previous posts from their trip to Italy, before her split with Hemsworth was confirmed.

Carter and Cyrus were first romantically connected in mid-August when photos emerged of them canoodling poolside while on a girls' trip in Italy with Miley's sister, Brandi. The photos caused a huge stir online, especially because they were published just hours after Miley and ex Liam Hemsworth dropped the bombshell news that they're separating.

The next week, Hemsworth filed for divorce as questions were raised about whether or not Cyrus' alleged romance with Carter overlapped at all with her marriage. All involved, including Carter's ex Brody Jenner, have publicly stood by the fact that Miley and Kaitlynn only got involved after their respective splits.

On August 22, Miley went on a lengthy tweeting spree in which she vehemently denied any accusations of cheating.

"I can accept that the life I’ve chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time," she said. "What I cannot accept is being told I’m lying to cover up a crime I haven’t committed. I have nothing to hide."

"Once Liam & I reconciled,I meant it, & I was committed," she added. "There are NO secrets to uncover here. I’ve learned from every experience in my life. I’m not perfect, I don’t want to be, it’s boring. I’ve grown up in front of you, but the bottom line is, I HAVE GROWN UP."

Kaitlynn supported Miley as she performed her new single, "Slide Away," which is seemingly about her split from Hemsworth, at the VMAs at the end of last month, and the pair was photographed holding hands while going to an after-party that same night.
