Alice Marie Johnson featured in Kim Kardashian's SKIMS shapewear campaign

Alice Marie Johnson just made her fashion debut for Kim Kardashian's new shapewear line, SKIMS.

The former inmate turned public advocate appeared in the SKIMS' testimonial video, wearing the sculpting bodysuit --one of Kim's many upcoming Solutionwear designs. The brand will range from sizes XXS - 5XL and is set to launch on September 10th.

"My name is Alice Marie Johnson. I'm from Memphis, Tennessee. I'm wearing the sculpting bodysuit. I was serving a life plus 25 year sentence without the possibility of parole. Kim saw a video of me. She heard my story. She said, 'This is so unfair.' And by the way, I didn't even know who Kim Kardashian was!" Johnson started in the emotional video.

"She went to war for me, to fight for my freedom. That's why I call her my war angel. Because nothing stood between her and my freedom. I was set free on June the sixth, 2018. So now every moment in life is precious to me. Waking up in the morning and not having a bunk bed over my head is precious to me. Being able to open the door whenever I want to and just walk outside and breathe in fresh air. To breathe in freedom - that is precious to me."

"This shapewear makes feel that I can walk into the store, I could pick up something I wouldn't normal even think about wearing and put it on and it's going to look great on me. This shapewear makes me feel free," she finished.

Johnson is one of 26 real women featured in the new campaign sharing intimate and raw stories about why they love their bodies and how SKIMS empowers them to feel the best version of themselves. Other females set to appear will include model Annette Marweld and vintage fashion creative Sami Miro.

After hearing Alice’s story on social media back in 2017, Kim was moved to take action and began publicly advocating for Alice’s release from prison. Several calls and a fateful meeting with the president later, Alice Marie Johnson was finally granted clemency on June 6, 2018.
