2020 Election: Celebrities who have donated to Pete Buttigieg

Updated

It seems many Hollywood figures have an appreciation for small-town roots.

Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg, once considered a complete long-shot candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, has barreled past the odds, and his momentum hasn't shown signs of slowing down. Buttigieg, in fact, had the best Q2 fundraising quarter of all of the candidates, and among his supporters are a handful of famous faces.

Although Larry David has played Bernie Sanders on "Saturday Night Live" multiple times, it's Buttigieg who he found worthy of a contribution. Also offering donations were Michael J. Fox and Kevin Bacon, as well as Jennifer Aniston, who hadn't previously donated to any presidential candidate in over a decade.

Not all of his recognizable supporters are on-screen personalities: Cooper Hefner, who became a chief exec at Playboy after late father Hugh Hefner left his post, donated the maximum permitted amount (a bit under $6,000) to Buttigieg.

At 37 years old, Mayor Pete is the youngest player in the field, but there's no arguing he boasts prestigious credentials. After graduating from Harvard, he was tapped as a Rhodes Scholar before joining McKinsey and Company, one of the top consulting firms in the world. He was an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy and served in Afghanistan.
