Hollywood stars has a long history of sharing their love for their animals, and two new commemorative books are paying homage to some of the industry's legends and their pets.

"Hollywood Dogs" and "Hollywood Cats" are two gorgeous coffee table books released by ACC Art Books this summer, and we can't get enough of the iconic black-and-white photos littered throughout the pair of books, which are perfect for pet lovers.

There's Marilyn Monroe posing with one of her beloved furry friends in 1961, Elizabeth Taylor with a cat in her dress pocket in 1953, Frank Sinatra sharing a moment with a dog on set in 1957 and Anne Francis getting dangerously close to an oversized cat -- a lion! -- one year earlier in 1956.

Other Hollywood icons included in the new releases include Joan Collins, Rock Hudson, Lauren Bacall and Diana Dors.
