Meghan Markle, Prince Harry honor Princess Diana on Instagram for the first time

Carrying on her legacy.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle honored Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, on their joint Sussex Royal Instagram account for the first time on Friday, sharing an inspiring quote from the People's Princess.

"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you," the quote, written in the couple's signature font under their monogram, reads.

The post served as a kickoff of the couple's new series of posts that will highlight some of their favorite quotes.

"Words have the power to inspire, which is why we’re happy to share some of our favourite quotes," Harry and Meghan captioned the post. "From members of the public to public figures, from teachers and students to young leaders, we begin with a quote from Diana, Princess of Wales."

The post marks the first time that the couple has mentioned Harry's late mother on their account, which they launched this past spring.

While the couple, along with Prince William and wife Kate Middleton, strive to carry on Diana's teachings and good example, they have also maintained a close bond to the rest of her family, including her siblings.

Diana's sisters Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellows were both at the baptism of Harry and Meghan's son, Archie Harrison, at the beginning of July, and they appear in the official christening photos released by the palace following the private ceremony.
