Debbie Harry details being raped at knifepoint while with her then-boyfriend

Debbie Harry, now 74, is ready to speak candidly about the dark side of her early career days.

Among other revelations, Blondie singer shares in her new memoir, Face It, that she was once raped at knifepoint while her then-boyfriend, Chris Stein, was tied up by an armed robber.

"He f---ed me. And then he said, 'Go clean yourself,'" she recalls of the terrifying incident. The man proceeded to round up and exit with all of the couple's guitars and other valuables: "In the end, the stolen guitars hurt me more than the rape. I mean, we had no equipment."

Harry's memoir also recounts a chilling close encounter with a man she later realized was serial killer Ted Bundy. She's told the story in past interviews, detailing a day in the early 1970s when she was unable to snag a taxi on a busy street in New York. She accepted a ride from a stranger, she said.

“I got in and the windows were rolled up except an inch and a half at the top," she said. "I realized there was no door handle, no window crank, no nothing. The inside of the car was totally stripped out. The hairs on the back of my neck just stood up."

As she reached out the window to open the door from the outside, "he tried to stop me by spinning the car, but it helped me fling myself out. After, I saw him on the news: Ted Bundy."

Although Bundy never confessed to homicides in the tri-state area, with most known victims killed closer to the West Coast, he is considered a top suspect in two unsolved murders in New Jersey.
