'Three's Company' star Joyce DeWitt: See her through the years

It's been more than 40 years since "Three's Company" debuted on ABC, quickly becoming one of the most-watched sitcoms of the 20th century.

Now 70 years old, Joyce DeWitt was new to the Hollywood scene when she landed one of the three main roles, starring as Janet Wood alongside John Ritter and Suzanne Somers. The popularity of the show made DeWitt and Somers' 1981 fallout all the more dramatic: Somers quit the show over a salary dispute, and the two didn't speak or see each other again for three full decades ⁠⁠— not even when Ritter unexpectedly died in 2003 at 54 years old.

In 2012, the former co-stars decided to make amends, sitting down together for a candid conversation about the debacle. Of their reconciliation, DeWitt simply said, "It's time."

During their reunion, the two talked a bit about Ritter, with Somers calling him the "greatest physical comic" of the time. They also noted that, despite the rumors, there were no romantic relationships unfolding between either of them and their co-star.

After "Three's Company," DeWitt continued to appear in film and TV productions, but she's particularly thrived in the world of professional theater. In fact, just a few years ago in 2012, DeWitt co-starred in a stage production alongside none other than Tony Dow, himself a famed sitcom face from "Leave It To Beaver."
