RIP, Dakota Johnson's tooth gap: 'Fifty Shades' star shows off her new smile at 'Peanut Butter Falcon' premiere

Dakota Johnson is all smiles these days.

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress arrived at a Los Angeles screening of her new film, "Peanut Butter Falcon," in a Saint Laurent halter neck dress and an unexpected accessory: A genuine grin. As Page Six pointed out, Johnson has historically posed for photographers with a consistently tight-lipped smile.

This time around, Johnson appeared more relaxed, and fans were quick to attribute the difference to a clear change in her appearance — the star has closed the signature gap between her two front teeth.

It's unclear when, exactly, Johnson made the apparent cosmetic change, but it may have been a gradual transition. The public caught a glimpse of her smile at the Met Gala in May, and it's possible that the gap was already on its way out; it appeared a bit less pronounced, but not as fully bonded as it does today.

Johnson is far from the first celebrity to close space between the two front teeth. Among the stars who've opted for similar work is Demi Lovato, who's said she felt pressured to do so.

"I signed with Disney Channel when I got Camp Rock, and I had a gap between my two front teeth. They were like, 'Would you be willing to fix it?'" she told Allure in 2016. "I wish today that I hadn't, because my gap was really cute."
