Celine Dion's team denies 'untruthful' story about Pepe Muñoz 'isolating her'

Celine Dion's team is coming out strong against the a recent story suggesting that her inner circle is "freaked out" over the amount of control that her "boy toy" creative director, Pepe Muñoz, has over her life.

In a statement released on the singer's Twitter on Wednesday, several members of her team slammed the Page Six report that ran earlier this week, saying that they were "saddened and disappointed by the untruthful story."

"Dear Pepe, As the real members of Celine’s ‘inner circle,’ we are saddened and disappointed by an untruthful story that surfaced in the media on Monday, quoting multiple sources who claim they are part of the inner circle and that you have too much influence over Celine, and that you are isolating her," the statement read.

"These ‘sources’ have nothing better to do than to spread untrue gossip," it continued. "Don’t let it get you down… and keep up the great work. We love you! Dave, Dee, Denis, Lina, Michel, Naomi, Suzanne, Sydney, Sylvie, Yves oxoxo"

Dion's team standing firmly behind one of the closest people in her life comes two days after Page Six ran a story claiming that he's "really trying to take over" all aspects of the singer's career and personal life.

"Pepe is like her boy toy who is really trying to take over. He’s isolating her and people are feeling it," one reported insider claimed. "She’s in love with this guy and listens to everything he’s saying. People go to him when they have questions. He’s fully taken over. The only people around her now [are] Pepe, the hairdresser and the stylist."

"It’s crazy. She knows he’s gay and is accepting of it. She needs someone close to her and she fell in love. He’s turned into a René type," the source added.

"People are freaked out by it. He has this clique that he keeps very small," a second source explained to the outlet. "It’s Céline, himself, a hair person and the stylist. That’s the group -- even management goes to him when they need something."

Dion, 51, and Muñoz, 35, have been close for nearly two years now, and their tight relationship has been the source of major speculation, with many fans wondering if they're romantically involved -- even though Muñoz is gay.

“We’re friends, we’re best friends," Dion said earlier this year, dismissing claims that they're lovers. "Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he’s a gentleman. When I say, ‘I am single,’ please leave me alone."
