Meghan Markle admits career 'took a little turn' during 'casual conversation' at 'Lion King' premiere

Meghan Markle recently connected with a former classmate of hers.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex famously attended the London premiere of Disney's "The Lion King" recently, where they greeted the film's all-star cast. While photos of Meghan and Harry's meeting with Beyoncé and Jay-Z went insanely viral, her interaction with the "Drunk In Love" singer's co-star, Billy Eichner, slid under the radar.

During an appearance on "Today With Hoda & Jenna" this week, Eichner, who plays Timon in the movie, revealed that he bonded with Meghan over their time at Northwestern during their brief interaction at the premiere.

"Meghan and I both went to college together -- we were both theatre majors at Northwestern," he said. "We didn't know each other when we were there, but we were there at the same time."

"So, in the middle of this huge royal premiere that you're looking at right there, we're having a very casual conversation about our acting teachers at Northwestern," he laughed, adding that they had some of the same professors during their time at the university.

The comedian also revealed that Meghan acknowledged that her life has definitely taken a turn since her time playing Rachel Zane on USA's "Suits" for seven seasons.

"She said to me, 'Congrats on your career,' and I said, 'Congrats on your career,' and she said, 'Well, things took a little turn!'"

In the end, Eichner, who rose to fame with his viral show, "Billy on the Street," had nothing but glowing things to say about the duchess.

"She was lovely, and they were so cool and down-to-earth," he said. "You would never know that they were royals."
