‘Toy Story 2’ blooper scene about sexual misconduct edited out of re-release

The re-release of Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 2” on 4K and digital is missing a post-credits scene that made a joke about sexual misconduct and alludes to the casting couch in Hollywood.

According to multiple DVD release forums and websites including Re-Release News, ResetEra.com and Blu-Ray.com, as well as from observations on Reddit, the a clip appeared to be edited out of the credits on the new release when compared side by side with the original Blu-Ray release of the film.

The scene in question is part of a series of blooper-reel style gags that play during the credits. In one, Woody turns around the box of the doll Stinky Pete, the villain in the film voiced by Kelsey Grammer, only to find him with two tall Barbie dolls wearing short skirts.

Disney did not immediately return a request for comment as to whether the scene had been deleted or if the company had a comment on the reason for the edit.

Re-Release News pointed out that the scene with Stinky Pete was not included in all previous versions of the film, or on other DVD releases was included as a special feature.

“Toy Story 2’s” co-director John Lasseter exited Disney in December 2017 after announcing a sabbatical in November 2017 because of a Hollywood Reporter story in which “former Pixar insiders” said he frequently made a habit of “grabbing, kissing, making comments about physical attributes” of women at the company.
