Salman Rushdie, 72, finds love with award-winning 40-year-old poet: report

Still a romantic!

Salman Rushdie, 72, has four marriages under his belt, and he's trying his hand again. The acclaimed novelist is dating 40-year-old award-winning poet Rachel Eliza Griffiths, according to Page Six.

Griffiths' works have been featured in dozens of publications, including The New Yorker, The New York Times and O Magazine, as described by her personal website bio. Although she's a Washington, D.C. native, she now lives in New York, where Rushdie also lives, and teaches creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College.

The couple reportedly celebrated Rushdie's birthday together in London last week, and they've been spotted at events together in New York.

Rushdie was most recently married to "Top Chef" host Padma Lakshmi, who he wed in 2004 and divorced in 2007. He married Lakshmi the same year he divorced his second wife.

He has two sons, Zafar, 39, and Milan, 20.
