Whitney Port talks 'The Hills: New Beginnings' reshoots and more (Exclusive)

Whitney Port says that reshoots for the upcoming reboot of "The Hills" were to "fill in certain blanks" for certain storylines.

During a recent interview with AOL's Gibson Johns for her partnership with Betadine, the reality star opened up about "The Hills: New Beginnings," which was initially supposed to premiere on MTV this spring but was pushed back because of reported reshoots. It'll now premiere on June 24.

"It’s more basically that they filmed all the stuff and then probably in the editing they were missing certain conversations that happened off camera," Port explained of the reshoots, which worried fans online. "They just needed to fill in certain blanks."

As far as the mother-of-one is concerned, fans of the beloved original show, which ran from 2006 until 2010, will love the rebooted version just as much, and she told AOL that viewers can expect "New Beginnings" to go "a little bit deeper" into where the cast, which also includes Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge and Brody Jenner, is now, nearly a decade later.

"They really want to respect what the old show was, and they hired amazing directors to make it look beautiful and highlight Los Angeles, and people are going to be really excited that they can get a little bit deeper into our lives now," Port explained. "You already really know us, but this shows another layer of who we are. Everyone can see who we are individually on our social media, but what people loved on ‘The Hills’ was the interactions between everyone and what our relationships are really like."

Some of the storylines that viewers can expect include "Spencer and [his sister] Stephanie having a sibling rivalry, Heidi being a mom and her being pulled in different directions [and] Audrina now being single and figuring out if old flames are worthwhile or not."

While the reboot may touch on some of the cast as parents, Port explained that the focus of the show will be on the group's social interactions, as it was during its initial run.

"It’s not [a focus]. There are a couple of us that were used to working already and leaving our babies, so our babies aren’t necessarily on it, but I think you see a little bit of the struggle of people separating from their babies," she said. "But, for me being a mom isn’t necessarily highlighted on the show. It’s more about how the group dynamics work."

As for how she feels about jumping back into the madness of being on a reality show, Port couldn't be more ready.

"I’m really excited, actually. First of all, it’s fun to do press with other people, they’re all really entertaining whether you like them or don’t agree with everything, it’s always really entertaining," she gushed. "I just feel really excited because I know so many other people are excited, and it makes me feel happy. I love reality TV, I watch it, and I know the joy that I get out of watching it, so I’m glad we can provide that for other people."

"The Hills: New Beginnings" premieres on MTV on Monday, June 24.
