Details emerge on Hunter Biden's secret wedding just 10 days after meeting his new wife

More details have to come light on Hunter Biden's completely unexpected decision to get married again.

News broke on Wednesday that the son of 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden wed South African native Melissa Cohen in a secret wedding ceremony last month on May 16 -- just ten days after they met.

A source said that the couple, both of whom have been married before, "met and fell hard and got hitched." So hard, in fact, that they already got matching tattoos together, E! News reports.

As previously reported, a Los Angeles-based minister that works for a same-day marriage company was officiated their nuptials.

Cohen's father, Lee, who has not yet met Hunter, spoke to Page Six about his daughter's unexpected new romance.

"She seems very happy. I've only spoke to Hunter briefly," Lee said. "She's a very special girl. She has lots of poise, and she's very present."

Former vice-president, Joe Biden, also confirmed that his son had gotten remarried. CBS News' Adam Brewster asked him for confirmation at an event on Wednesday, to which he simply said, "Yes."

Page Six also obtained photos from Cohen's private social media pages, in which she is frequently seen wearing bikinis, traveling and taking selfies. She is an activist who now lives in Los Angeles.

While Cohen used to be married to a man named Jason Landver, Hunter was previously married to Kathleen Biden, with whom he shares three children, for 22 years.

More notably, however, Hunter's shotgun wedding came just over a month after splitting from Hallie Biden, the widow of his late brother, Beau. The unlikely pair dated for two years starting in 2017 -- two years after Beau died from brain cancer at the age of 46.

"Hallie and I are incredibly lucky to have found the love and support we have for each other in such a difficult time, and that’s been obvious to the people who love us most," Hunter said in a statement in March 2017. "We’ve been so lucky to have family and friends who have supported us every step of the way."

The unorthodox relationship also had the support of Joe and Jill Biden.

"We are all lucky that Hunter and Hallie found each other as they were putting their lives together again after such sadness," Joe Biden said of the relationship. "They have mine and Jill’s full and complete support and we are happy for them."
