Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Brad Falchuk have an unconventional living situation

Gwyneth Paltrow has an unconventional -- yet "ideal" -- living situation with her husband, Brad Falchuk.

The goop founder said in a new interview with The Sunday Times that she only lives with her producer husband four nights a week and that he spends the remaining three nights at his own home.

"All my married friends say that the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn't change a thing," the 46-year-old "Iron Man" actress explained, going on to reveal that their unexpected setup has been given a stamp of approval by her intimacy coach, who said that it gives her marriage "polarity."

Paltrow and Falchuk got married at Paltrow's Hamptons home in September 2018, and the A-list guest list included the likes of Steven Spielberg, Jerry Seinfeld and Cameron Diaz.

The couple waited several months before taking their honeymoon to the Maldives, where they were joined by Paltrow's ex-husband, Chris Martin, their children, Apple and Moses, and Falchuk's children from his previous marriage, Brody and Isabella.

"It was a very modern honeymoon," Paltrow said on "Live With Kelly and Ryan" in January. "Just great conversation and lots of kids. It was great. We had such a good time."

Paltrow, who has always strived to take a thoroughly modern approach to her relationships and family dynamic, has remained close to Martin -- despite "consciously uncoupling" in 2014 after 11 years of marriage -- which has allowed for him to strike up a close friendship with Falchuk, too.

"Chris is family and Brad and he, they're like, totally friends," Paltrow told The Sunday Times.

The goop founder has also made an effort to get to know Martin's new love, actress Dakota Johnson, with whom Paltrow shares a social circle. The pair made headlines when they posed together at Derek Blasberg's birthday party this spring.

"I adore her," Paltrow told the Times. "[She's] a fantastic woman."

Sources told Us Weekly late last year that Paltrow and Falchuk "have blended their families in such a great way," adding that "the kids all really are liking each other."
