Inside the Jonas Brothers' 'Happiness Begins' listening party (Exclusive)

The Jonas Brothers hosted an intimate advanced listening party for their upcoming album, "Happiness Begins," in New York City on Wednesday night, and AOL was on the scene for the lively event that featured as a preview for the band's first album in a decade.

Guests at the exclusive event consisted mostly of American Airlines Mastercard cardholders. After getting their phones, cameras and Apple Watches locked up to avoid any audio leaking early, party goers sipped on speciality "Sucker" cocktails at PH-D Lounge at the top of the Dream Downtown hotel as they waited for the Jonases to hit the stage.

Kevin, Joe and Nick were introduced just after 10 p.m., bringing out red solo cups with them as their first-ever No. 1 hit, "Sucker," blared on the speakers. Nick rocked a sky blue jacker over a white t-shirt and khaki pants, Kevin opted for white jeans and a quarter-zip windbreaker, and Joe went with an all-black look that he paired with a STAMPD baseball hat.

The brothers proceeded to play six previously-unheard songs from their new album, "Happiness Begins," out Friday, June 7, sharing details on each of the tracks before playing them in full for the lively crowd.

Of "Only Human," the brothers explained that they worked on the track with Shellback and Max Martin, who Nick noted is responsible for countless Top 40 hits over the past decade. It was a clear standout track and got people at the party dancing instantly.

Before introducing "Don't Throw It Away," Joe explained that it was one of the tracks that they crafted with Greg Kurstin, who broke out as one of Adele's key collaborators on her seminal album, "21." They also credited Kurstin for guiding them to some of the '80s influences that are heard throughout "Happiness Begins."

Kevin said that Nick and Joe worked heavily on "Every Single Time," which he revealed was "on repeat" during Nick's bachelor party before he married Priyanka Chopra. It's a dance-worthy song with island-inspired sounds that they also worked on with Kurstin.

The song that got the best reaction at the listening party was undeniably "Strangers," which the brothers explained was the result of their desire to "tip our hat to the good old days" -- and they weren't lying. The track is pure pop/rock bliss that would've been right at home on any of their old albums. They worked on the song with Kurstin, too, and it's sure to be a fan-favorite.

Joe explained that "Comeback" was written as a celebration of the brothers coming back together to mount their music comeback as the Jonas Brothers after years away from one another professionally. While explaining that, he laughed that they still sing to someone named "baby" in the song, but it's undoubtedly about their own comeback and not directed at a love interest.

The Jonas Brothers also played "Love Her" at the party, and they had already released "Sucker" and "Cool" before the album's release.

After listening to select songs from their new album, fans at the party were able to take part in a meet-and-greet with all three of the brothers.

"Happiness Begins" will be released to the public on Friday, June 7.
