Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk's relationship 'hanging by a thread': report

Are Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk "hanging by a thread"?

A new report in Page Six claims as much, citing sources that say "things are not good" between the couple who started dating back in 2015 and share daughter, Lea De Seine, 2.

"Because of their daughter, they keep trying," an insider revealed. "Things are not good. Neither one is happy. The relationship is hanging by a thread."

Cooper and Shayk have been notoriously private about their relationship, rarely attending red carpet events together and keeping a relatively low profile between projects. That changed, however, during the full throttle promotional tour and Oscars campaign for Cooper's 2018 directorial debut, "A Star Is Born," co-starring Lady Gaga, during which he and Shayk attended countless events together, including the Golden Globes and the Oscars.

The spotlight on Cooper at the time meant that the couple had to show a brave face amid media scrutiny, the insider claimed.

"They couldn’t break up when he was doing promotion for 'A Star Is Born,' but who knows what will happen now?" the source explained.

Adding fuel to the fire, of course, was the speculation around Cooper's relationship with his co-star, Lady Gaga, amid their intense chemistry both on and off screen while promoting their film, which culminated in a performance of their Oscar-winning song, "Shallow," at the Academy Awards, during which they leaned into their on-screen characters.

After the performance sparked rumors online, Gaga addressed the speculation on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

"People saw love, and guess what? That's what we wanted you to see," the singer said matter-of-factly.

It wasn't just Cooper's chemistry that sparked concern over his relationship, however. In addition to eye-witnesses saying that the couple "were not looking happy" and "barely spoke" during a dinner out in New York last week, Page Six reported in October that the couple was "miserable together" and had been "for months" at that point.

"He doesn't drink and is into spirituality," a source said at the time. "She wants to go out."
