Christina Anstead: What it's like living two blocks from ex-husband Tarek

Updated

Better together! Christina Anstead shares two children with her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and opened up about what makes coparenting easier.

“Tarek and I only live two blocks for each other, so it actually works out really well,” the Christina on the Coast star, 35, told Us Weekly exclusively in this week’s issue. “As you can imagine, you’ve got school and soccer and stuff, so if we leave a pair of shoes or there’s a soccer ball, it’s so easy now to just, like, run over there and pick something up. It’s just a lot more simple. The kids’ schools are close and everything is, like, a five-minute drive.”

The reality star added: “Before, we were 30 minutes apart and that was a nightmare, so it’s just much better living closer together.”

When it comes to divvying up their time with Taylor, 8, and Brayden, 3, the HGTV personality told Us that El Moussa, 37, “loves Chuck E. Cheese.” He spends time with the kids there, while she prefers hanging with the little ones at the park or going for a swim.

After the Flip or Flop stars split in 2016, she went on to marry Ant Anstead in December 2018. The pair have a blended family as the Wheelers Dealers host, 40, already shares Amelie, 25, and Archie, 12, with his ex-wife, Louise Anstead.

In March, Christina and her husband announced that they are expecting their first child together.

“@ant_anstead and I are so excited to announce #babyanstead coming this September,” the California native wrote on Instagram at the time. “The kids are all so excited to meet their new sibling #5 #Gonnaneedabiggercar.”

The World’s Most Expensive Cars producer added with a post of his own: “And then…… there were FIVE!!! (Well …. four and a half! Will be Five in September)!!”

Christina on the Coast premieres Thursday, May 23, at 9 p.m. E.T. on HGTV.
