Andy Cohen has 'great' relationship with fellow late-night hosts: 'Everybody's buddies'

The so-called "late-night wars" are a thing of the past, as far as Andy Cohen is concerned.

Cohen, who is celebrating a decade of his fun-filled "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen," sat down with Willie Geist on Monday night during a "WWHL" Emmys For Your Consideration event in New York City, where Geist asked him about how he gets along with his fellow late-night hosts.

"My relationship is great with them," Cohen said. "It's funny, because most of them have been on my show. [...] They're tickled by coming on my show, because we have no pre-interview."

The 50-year-old television personality was alluding to the fact that guests on "Watch What Happens" aren't asked questions in their green rooms before appearing on the show, which is what happens on most other talk shows to give them a sense of how the conversation will go in advance. On "WWHL," they favor an "anything goes" approach, which opens the show up to go to places that other late-night programs can't.

Cohen went on to reveal that he recently ran into "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert at a wedding, where he recalled having a bit too munch to drink when he first appeared on the Bravo show.

"'I was wasted,'" Cohen remembered Colbert telling him. "He was! It was beautiful."

The new father, who is famously good pals with "Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon, ended the topic of conversation by saying that "everybody's buddies" when it comes to the current slate of late-night hosts.

Later on, Cohen opened up about the hilarious nature of his longtime friendship with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, with whom he regularly tours the country for their joint AC2 live show, explaining that they each bring their own expertise to the table.

"Anderson Cooper is reality, and I'm escape from reality," he laughed. "That's how we define our relationship."

"Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" airs Sunday - Thursday on Bravo at 11 p.m. EST
