James Holzhauer’s 'Jeopardy' win means Tom Brady doesn't have to eat his first strawberry

Tom Brady has evaded strawberries yet again.

The New England Patriots quarterback, who has never eaten a strawberry in his life, pledged to try the forbidden fruit for the very first time — if James Holzhauer were to fall short on "Jeopardy."

"If James loses on Jeopardy tonight I'll eat a strawberry on IG live tomorrow," Brady tweeted on Monday.

But the record-setting Holzhauer saved Brady from that awful fate, sailing through to his 23rd win. His Monday collection of $89,229 brings his total "Jeopardy" winnings to $1,780,237.

Holzhauer's non-tournament winnings trail only ultimate record-holder Ken Jennings, who took home $2,522,700 in 2004.

Brady, 41, was happy to breeze right past his promise, tweeting, "James doesn’t lose and I don’t eat strawberries… keep it moving."

Strawberries aside, Brady's eating habits are certainly unique. His personal chef told Boston.com that his daily diet consists of 80 percent vegetables, always organic, and doesn't allow for any white sugar, white flour, coffee, caffeine or dairy. And strawberries are far from the only fruit he refuses; he rarely eats any at all, save for the occasional banana smoothie.
