How royal baby Archie could bring Meghan, Kate and Harry, William closer together

Royal baby Archie Harrison is bringing the royal family together.

Now that it's been over a week since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child together, reports are surfacing that their son is proving to be the catalyst in the Sussexes and the Cambridges back together after nearly a year of speculation that there's tension between the two couples.

"Meghan and Kate will be spending a lot more time together," an insider told Us Weekly. "Now that they're bonding over motherhood, they've become closer than ever."

Kate and William finally met Archie this week, eight days after he was born. They had previously told reporters that they were "absolutely thrilled" over the news of their nephew's birth, with Kate adding that "it's really exciting for both of them."

The baby could prove even more beneficial for William and Harry's relationship, which has undoubtedly fractured a bit since Harry became serious with Meghan and William began focusing more of his efforts on ramping up his royal duties in preparation to become king one day.

But tackling fatherhood together will likely bring their emotional connection back to the level where it used to be.

"William and Harry will want their children to know their cousins and do things together, so they will work harder at their relationship," a source told People. "The brothers will have a different kind of relationship and move on."

Though that strengthened bond might not happen right away, palace insiders predict that it's an inevitable side effect of welcoming children into the world around the same time.

"Maybe they’ll come back together a little later. It’s another stage in the growing up," one source said. "Sometimes you have to break away in order to come back."

"There is never any doubt that they will be there for each other 100 percent and support each other when it matters," another insider added.

That being said, with the recent split of their official royal offices and Harry and Meghan's recent move out of Kensington Palace, where Kate and William live with their three children, and into Frogmore Cottage at Windsor Castle just outside of London, there will now be a permanent separation between the Cambridges and the Sussexes.

After all, as Will continues to prepare to become king, Harry will keep on searching for his own priorities alongside his wife.

"It was only going to work until they married -- and it went on a while longer than perhaps was originally thought," one person explained to People. "There was power in that unity and great strength in the foursome, but I see why it is happening. There is always that tension: trying to do the PR thing and then realizing that they are just real people. They want their own place and their own things."

But with baby Archie in the world as George, Charlotte and Louis' new cousin, he may just be the connective tissue that they were looking for.
