The one brand you didn't know celebrities are always wearing on the red carpet

From the Oscars to the Golden Globes and all of the after parties in between, awards season leaves celebrities with dress change after dress change. And while 2019 awards season may be on the outs, we're constantly looking to celebrity stylists to find out their best kept secrets on the red carpet -- We've learned that it's all about what lies underneath.

Case in point: Among the various brands of undergarments on the market, we've noticed one common brand pop up when stylists speak to the getting ready process of their A-list clients, Commando's Control Top Thong.

“Ultimately for me Commando stands out because I really appreciate design of the pieces and the fabrication. The silhouettes worked with every look Laura [Harrier] wore throughout awards season," Danielle Nachmani says, who has been working alongside Harrier for her BlacKkKlansman press tours.

Ashley Thomas revealed that "Toni Braxton won’t even start to get dressed for the red carpet until she sees that her Commando nipple covers and undergarments have been laid out. They really make a woman feel secure.”

Micaela Erlanger, who famously works with Lupita Nyong'o and Diana Kruger told us “Commando is a go to product for me, especially when dressing clients for the red carpet. They offer countless solutions that really work and I consistently stock my styling kit with their products. I am obsessed with their seamless underwear, nipple petals and silicone inserts. All of which are completely invisible under clothing!”

Emily Blunt's stylist, Jessica Paster, said “My clients and I cannot live without commando. Every piece of clothing looks amazing with commando under it. My Oscars were better because of commandos."

Gwyneth Paltrow recently stepped out for the 2019 Met Gala wearing a Commando custom Full Bottom Bodysuit underneath her dusty yellow Chloé gown.

Founder and CEO of Commando Kerry O'Brien says, "At Commando we’re obsessed with fabric, fit and fashion. We design with luxury-technical fabrics and fit-test every garment in multiple sizes on real women- including myself. Stylists and celebrities know they can depend on us for those key pieces that can make or break a red-carpet look. Commando is their canvas.”

O'Brien also recalled Rihanna's epic CFDA Awards fashion moment, where the singer wore a naked Adam Selman dress with her Commando undergarments front and center.

"Celebrities have been wearing commando invisibly for a long time but the first visible moment that really stands out was when Rihanna wore a gorgeous (and completely sheer) gown to the CFDA Awards with commando underneath. I was at the CFDA awards that year and Rihanna won the style icon award, watching her receive her award on-stage in visible Commando was a really exciting moment!”
