Howard Stern recalls meeting wife Beth for the first time: 'How could this person love me?' (Exclusive)

Howard Stern finds his marriage hard to fathom.

The 65-year-old radio personality was two years separated from his first wife when he met model-actress Beth Ostrosky. In an exclusive AOL excerpt from his highly-anticipated new memoir, Howard Stern Comes Again, he recalls the moment he first laid eyes on his now-wife in 2000, and says that nearly two decades later, he's still floored by their romance.

"Sometimes I'll look at her and think, 'Is this really happening? How could this person love me?'" he said. "I guess that's the definition of a dream girl, and nineteen years in I still feel that way about her."

The two first met on a "rainy, cold night" at a dinner party hosted by mutual friends. Beth was on a blind date with someone else, "and we ended up talking," he said. "There was this light around her. She was just glowing."

The couple dated for seven years before tying the knot in 2008. While they don't have children together, they've fostered more than 900 cats over the years. Beth, a longtime animal rights activist, has called finding homes for cats her "full-time job." (She says the kittens love Howard's curly hair.)

Stern has three daughters from his first marriage: Emily, 36, Deborah, 33, and Ashley, 26.

"Howard Stern Comes Again," out May 14, is already an Amazon No. 1 best seller. It's Stern's first book in more than 20 years, and it's sure to include shocking stories about his personal life as well as his many unorthodox celebrity encounters. You can grab a copy here.
