Archie Harrison: Twitter reacts to Meghan and Harry's royal baby name
Were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle inspired by the main character on "Riverdale," Archie Andrews, when coming up with their first child's name?
That's the question that everyone on Twitter was wondering when the royal couple announced the name of their newborn baby, two days after it was born. While Harrison appears to be a nod to father, Harry, as the name derives "from a surname, meaning 'son of Harry,'" the reason that they chose "Archie" is unclear so far.
Regardless, users on Twitter had a field day with the announcement and used it as an excuse to share photos and gifs from "Riverdale" and Archie Comics:
Really kind of Meghan & Harry to cater their royal baby name to the Riverdale crowd. pic.twitter.com/5JlriEG1cW

Perhaps most notably, the official Archie Comics Twitter account reacted to the news with a tweet that simply said, "i'm baby."

Meanwhile, multiple Netflix accounts capitalized on the news by tweeting out various forms of the royal baby's name:

KJ Apa, the actor who plays Archie Andrews on "Riverdale," has yet to react to Meghan and Harry's unexpected choice. Other celebrities, however, did weigh in on their son's name: Katy Perry, Chrissy Teigen and Piers Morgan all took to Twitter to share their own thoughts. While they all loved the choice of Archie, Morgan called Harrison a "silly" middle name:
😩❤️archie❤️😩

I like 'Archie', but calling him Harrison 'because he's Harry's son' is just silly. https://t.co/kxfukU6tjS
