Met Gala 2019: Who's going? All the celebs who were spotted out in NYC ahead of the ball

Updated

It's almost time for the 2019 Met Gala!

Ahead of fashion's biggest night, where the theme of Camp will certainly result in countless over-the-top, kitsch ensembles, celebrity sightings in New York City from the past days are giving us some major hints as to who we can expect to see on the red carpet on the first Monday in May.

Co-hosts Serena Williams, Lady Gaga and, of course, Anna Wintour, were all photographed attending Anna's pre-Met Gala dinner on Sunday night, while Met Gala mainstays Bella Hadid, Sienna Miller, Rita Ora and Karlie Kloss were also spotted leaving popular hotels where celebs get ready close to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (it's convenient to get ready nearby so their looks don't get ruined during long car rides!).

Kacey Musgraves, Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Johnson, Lily Rose-Depp, Lana Candor, Regina Hall and Tessa Thompson were also seen uptown in the past 24 hours.

One of the most unexpected celeb sightings? Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Brad Falchuk, who were photographed leaving The Mark Hotel on Sunday evening for a pre-Met Gala event. Paltrow famously dissed the Met Gala years ago and hasn't attended the soirée since, so an appearance from her would definitely be unexpected. If she shows up with Falchuk, it would also be their red carpet debut.
