Billboards 2019: Taylor Swift is a modern princess in ruffled lilac number

Taylor Swift is having a Marie Antoinette moment.

Wearing a lilac Raisa & Vanessa dress with delicate lace sleeves and voluminous ruffles, Swift was the picture of modern royalty as she arrived at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. Bare legs and sky-high stilettos —she's already 5'10"! — made for a truly show-stopping look.

The pastel tone complements the aesthetic she promoted on social media for months leading up to the release of her new song "Me!" She and Brandon Urie will open the show with the hit single.

Before hitting the red carpet, Swift happened to run into none other than Paula Abdul, who scooped up one of Swift's pet cats to pose for a photo. Swift held the other one. (Yes, it appears she brought her cats to the Billboards.)

"I’m trying to give them a normal upbringing but when the little ones and I ran into the flawless @paulaabdul on the way to red carpet we STRAIGHT UP had to get a pic," Swift captioned the snapshot.

Other highly-anticipated performers Wednesday include the Jonas Brothers and Madonna.
