Wendy Williams serves husband of 21 years with divorce papers amid infidelity reports

After months of public speculation and concern, Wendy Williams' attorney confirmed to multiple outlets Thursday that the talk show host has filed for divorce.

Williams, 54, has vehemently defended her marriage in recent weeks amid reports that her husband, Kevin Hunter, welcomed a baby with his alleged longtime mistress, Sharina Hudson.

Declaring that she was "still very much in love with my husband," she said on March 4, "I'm still wearing my ring ... He's my best friend, he's my lover ... I know what you've been seeing and I know what the streets have been talking about."

Displaying her wedding ring, she continued, "Don't ask me about [my marriage] until you see this gone, and it ain't going anywhere. Not in this lifetime."

But on Thursday, as she hosted her daily program, her wedding ring was missing.

Notably, the proclamation of lasting love came as Williams also admitted that she had recently relapsed. She is living in a sober house, she revealed, where she is closely monitored and works every day to maintain her sobriety. Page Six has cited multiple insiders who say that her husband's behavior exacerbated her struggle.

Williams and Hunter wed in 1997 and share one son, 19-year-old Kevin Hunter Jr.

As Williams' career began to grow, Hunter was at the helm as her personal business manager. Their finances and business endeavors are tightly intertwined, which could make for difficult divorce proceedings.

“He’s not just my husband, he’s my business partner, one of the executive producers on the show and he’s also my manager," Williams said in 2018. "He and I are glued at the hip."
