'RHONY': Luann de Lesseps regrets blocking Dorinda Medley from attending the clam bake (Exclusive)

Luann de Lesseps regrets not letting Dorinda Medley attend Barbara Kavovit's clam bake on "The Real Housewives of New York" this season.

While the cast was in the Hamptons to kick off the current eleventh season of the Bravo hit, Barbara hosted a get together at her home, but Luann urged her to disinvite Dorinda from the party -- unless she agreed to call Luann to clear the air about their drama dating back to a comment made during the cast's Colombia trip and Luann's cabaret show last season. Because she refused to do so, she wasn't allowed to attend the Hamptons soirée.

During an exclusive sit-down with AOL's Gibson Johns backstage before her #CountessAndFriends show at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City over the weekend, Luann revealed that she regrets not allowing her longtime pal to come to the party with the rest of the cast.

"In retrospect, I think it would’ve been a good idea to have Dorinda come," she told AOL. "I kind of feel bad about that. She is sincere, and I know that she does miss me. I felt the same way, but I was just still hurt. In retrospect, I wish I had more of an open mind to it."

Luann has been on the up and up since checking out of rehab for a second time last year, performing countless sold-out dates of her #CountessAndFriends cabaret show around the country. Though the general gist of the show remains the same, the original "RHONY" cast member recognizes the importance of changing up her set and list of guest stars as fervent fans continue to come back for more.

"It’s a fun show, it’s a good time, it’s old school entertainment. As [comedian] Murray Hill would say, it’s show biz. You know what I mean?" Luann said with a smile. "It’s also kind of the 'Housewives' show, obviously, and it's about seeing me live, cabaret, show biz and Carol Burnett all wrapped into one. I have different guests, and I keep the show fresh by singing different songs and [new entries from] my diary, because I want people to see different shows when they come back."

Returning to the Borgata also has a special significance for the reality star, who filmed the music video for her second single, "Chic C'est La Vie," at the iconic hotel and casino.

"The Borgata is a great venue. I’ve played it before, and we had free rein of this place when I filmed my music video for 'Chic,'" Luann said. "We were running around here and had the best time. It has a lot of great memories for me, and it just feels like home. It feels very special to be back."

The making of that music video, in particular, provides incredible memories for the "Money Can't Buy You Class" singer, who filmed it alongside then-co-stars Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon.

"That prance through the lobby, I think we did that at least 15 times," Luann recalled of the video shoot. "Jill was like, 'I can’t really be a model! I’m not a model!' And Kelly was like, 'Just do it this way, Jill!' And Jill was flipping out because she wanted it to be perfect. That’s one of the things I remember the most."

"I also actually remember being really hot by the pool in those bathrobes, because it was like a steaming day, trying to keep our makeup on and having to get into that car for sunset," she went on. "The director was like, 'Get in the car! We’re going to lose the sun!' And, if you notice, in the music video, it’s perfection. It’s perfection. We got it, and it was a great time."

"The Real Housewives of New York City" airs on Bravo on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST
