Emily Ratajkowski defends friend body-shamed in bikini Instagram: 'All these haters are crazy'

Emily Ratajkowski is going head-to-head with her Instagram followers, after trolls began to body-shame her friend, Caitlin King, in the model’s latest bikini picture.

The supermodel-turned-bathing-suit-designer took to her Instagram to post a photo of her “beach buns” alongside King while both were sporting designs from Ratajkowski’s line, Inamorata. But soon after sharing the photo, people began to criticize Ratajkowski for allegedly subjecting her friend to body-shamers.

“Why would she subject her friend to this humiliation and online bullying by posting this?” one person questioned, while another wrote, “You specifically posted a photo so that it was clear your body is better than the body of your friend.”

However, Ratajkowski quickly chimed in with an Instagram story and a reply to a commenter to negate the haters and say that she and King both love the way that they look in the photo.

“I love my friend’s body and both her and I think she looks great here! And I’m proud she’s rocking my suits,” Ratajkowski wrote in the comments. “All these haters are crazy. Just because you’re used to seeing one body type on the internet doesn’t mean that that’s the only kind that should be considered ‘beautiful.'”

King additionally commented on the absurdity of followers pinning her and Ratajkowski against each other, and trying to project unhealthy body image onto her.

“If I love myself and love [Ratajkowski’s] suits and love myself in the suits that’s all that matters,” King tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

And in fact, many of Ratajkowski’s followers have since commented on the photo with love for both of the women and their different body types.

“It’s sad that people feel the need to comment on someone else’s appearance,” one follower commented. Another assured, “It’s two girls on the beach with different but still beautiful bodies.”
