Elizabeth Olsen wants 'zero overlap' with sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

It's never easy to get all the way out from an older sibling's shadow.

Elizabeth Olsen is continuing to try to separate her public image from that of her older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: She wants "zero overlap" with the twins and their business ventures, including their luxury fashion line, Radar reports.

Although Mary-Kate and Ashley, 32, have appeared in almost no movies over the past decade, their years of child and teen stardom have made them a permanent fixture in the Hollywood zeitgeist. The two rarely make public appearances, and interviews are even more scarce. (In February 2019, after their label The Row's runway show at Fashion Week, the designers stepped out from backstage and waved to the paparazzi for all of three seconds.)

In contrast, Elizabeth, 30, has a prominent role in the Marvel universe, has starred in a number of indie flicks and isn't shying away from publicity: "She’s a lot more open about her life than Mary Kate and Ashley these days. She’s willing to sit down and do interviews with complete strangers if it will sell a film of hers."

Aside from their career and personality differences, there's one clear way in which Elizabeth has departed from her siblings: She's willing to smile on the red carpet! Mary-Kate and Ashley are known for pursing their lips, almost never showing their teeth.

Elizabeth will next appear later this year in "Avengers: Endgame."
