Sean Milliken, who appeared on TLC’s ‘My 600-lb Life,’ dies at 29

Another subject of TLC’s “My 600-lb Life” has died. Sean Milliken, who appeared on Season 4, Episode 12 of the docuseries, passed away on Sunday. He was 29.

“TLC is saddened to share that Sean Milliken has passed away,” the Discovery owned cable channel. “Viewers first met Sean in 2016 on My 600-lb Life when he weighed over 900-lbs. Over the course of his weight loss journey, he victoriously lost over 400-lbs. TLC viewers caught up with Sean this past summer and learned that despite the loss of his mother, he was still continuing in his quest to live a healthier and happier life.”

“TLC expresses its deepest sympathies to Sean’s friends and family at this difficult time,” the network added.

Other people profiled on “My 600-lb Life” who have since died include Lisa Fleming and James “LB” Bonner. Robert Buchel died during filming, despite having lost 200 pounds.

Milliken’s 42-minute episode premiered on March 16, 2016. At the time, he was 26 and weighed over 700 pounds, and had “a massive growth protruding from his side and skin so stretched it is tearing apart,” per TLC’s episodic logline. “His mother is forced to change both of their lifestyles before he can be approved for gastric bypass surgery.”
