LOL! Ben Affleck gives son's room a wild makeover: Jen thinks 'it’s creepy'

Desperate times call for desperate measures! When Ben Affleck found out that his son wasn’t a New England Patriots football fan, the actor gave his 6-year-old’s room a wild makeover.

It all started when the Justice League actor, 46, told his son about “the whole history” of being a fan of Boston’s football team, and Samuel said, “‘Dad, you’re from Boston. I’m from L.A.” This led to “a full existential crisis,” Affleck told Jimmy Kimmelon a Thursday, February 14, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“I failed. I’m a bad father. This is a disaster,” admitted the father of three, who shares Samuel, Violet, 13, and Seraphina, 10, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

He added: “There’s a certain sort of tragic pain that you carry with you as a person from Boston that you expect to imbue to your children that they’re gonna carry on. Like, we suffer through the cold and the misery, and we lose big sporting events.”

Determined to make his son a Patriots fan, the Oscar winner called up some friends to give Samuel’s bedroom an extreme makeover. Affleck hoped this would “help him understand where he comes from, if not literally, then at least spiritually.”

The final product? Samuel’s room now includes a Tom Brady painting on one wall, an “emblem for the greatest sports franchise in the history of sports” on another, as well as a “gigantic football bisected by a slide.” The director had the pictures to prove it!

Affleck admitted that Garner doesn’t like one specific decoration in the revamped room — a chair shaped like Tom Brady’s helmeted head. “My ex-wife thinks it’s creepy,” he told Kimmel.

But as for the proud Boston native, he thinks “it’s totally appropriate for grown men to make totems and idols of other grown men and worship them.”
