Kim Zolciak gives her daughters Brielle and Ariana this advice on dealing with Instagram trolls (Exclusive)

As Kim Zolciak Biermann's daughters continue to follow in her footsteps, the reality star and her husband, Kroy, are helping them navigate the oftentimes harsh world of social media and the constant criticism that comes with the territory of being a public figure.

The couple, who star on Bravo's "Don't Be Tardy," are parents to six children together, including their oldest Brielle, 21, and Ariana, 17. Brielle and Ariana are making their own mark on the world, especially through their growing Instagram profiles, which are often subject to internet trolls posting negative comments.

"Brielle is a pretty tough cookie and she definitely makes me laugh with some of her responses," Kim told AOL's Gibson Johns in an exclusive phone interview. "I know that a person can only take so much, because I’ll be one to pop off after a few nasty comments, but she’ll sometimes ask me, 'Should I say this?' And I’ll be like, 'No, let’s just think about it for a minute.'"

The advice that Kim gives her outspoken daughter is the same wisdom that her husband has to remind her of from time to time.

"It's like what Kroy does with me. I’ll be like, 'F--k this lady, Kroy!' And he’ll be like, 'Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. You’re not writing that,'" she added with a laugh.

The former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star went on to explain that she doesn't worry as much about Brielle, who has developed a thick skin amid constant speculation around her appearance. It's Ariana who Kim has to help a bit more as she gets older.

"Brielle can handle her own, and she has an incredible fan base. She’s very authentic and real. Ariana is the one that we kind of have to watch out for a little more than Brielle, not just due to age but also due to personality," Kim told AOL. "She’s very sensitive and sweet and coming into her own, so we definitely monitor a lot of her social media pages. She’s not as involved as Brielle is."

"You’ll have 100 positive and that one negative comment will put you over the edge if you’re just having a crazy busy day or whatever, and those are the times that you really need your parents or your friends to talk you off a ledge and be like, 'Let’s not even acknowledge them,'" Kim went on. "I block people that write sh-t all the time, but Brielle says, “F--k ‘em! I want them to see what I’m doing! I don’t block anybody.' And I block them, because I don’t want them to continue writing nasty comments. I do the same thing on Ariana’s page: I block people on her page as well."

It's not just Kim who is cognizant of her daughters' wellbeing when it comes to social media use. During our interview with Kim, Kroy was giving his wife a massage to help her get rid of a "horrible migraine," and he popped on the phone to add that he enjoys helping the girls navigate all of the challenges that life throws at them -- beyond just social media.

"My enjoyment [of being on the show] comes from obviously being around my family and helping Brielle and Ariana navigate life and a world that’s much different than what I grew up in and has changed drastically every day," he explained. "There’s always something new that comes up, whether it’s a new app or a new way for people to access them."

"There’s also normal teen drama and normal 21-year-old drama," he went on. "Brielle is figuring out her next step: What’s her next move? I'm trying to give her my knowledge and having a camera crew follow that is interesting because A. you can look back on it and B. it’s nice to share that knowledge with the world. As we go through our experiences, they relate to everyone else and what they’re going through in life. Brielle relates very well to her peers, so they can pull from her and transfer it to her life."

On "Don't Be Tardy," which returns with season 7 on Sunday, February 17, viewers see just that: Kroy and Kim helping all of their children address issues that everyone deals with. The season 7 premiere, for instance, shows Ariana struggle to find a prom dress that she feels confident in, and her family rallies around her to encourage her and life her up.

In some ways, "Don't Be Tardy" serves as a reminder that Kim, Kroy and the rest of their family's day-to-day life is a lot like the rest of America's: They wake up, get ready for school, work and come back together at the end of the day.

"We drive our kids to school every single morning and pick them up every single day," Kim pointed out to AOL. "There’s nothing scripted on 'Don’t Be Tardy' -- it’s just our regular schedule. It’s like, 'Hey, on Saturday Ariana’s going to prom and that’s what we’ll be doing.' It’s literally just what we’re doing and they’re filming. You get to see an authentic view into our lives and the chaos that comes with it."

"There’s always chaos with six kids."

"Don't Be Tardy" season 7 premieres on Sunday, February 17, at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo
