Dad again at 69! Richard Gere and wife Alejandra welcome a baby boy

It’s a boy! Richard Gereand his wife, Alejandra Silva, have welcomed their first child together.

The 69-year-old actor’s rep confirmed to E! News on Monday, February 11, that the couple recently welcomed a son in New York City. Gere is also the father of son Homer, 19, whom he shares with ex-wife Casey Lowell. The actor was previously married to Cindy Crawford, while Silva shares son Albert with ex-husband Govind Friedland.

The Pretty Woman star and the 35-year-old publicist secretly tied the knot in April 2018 after more than three years of dating. Reports surfaced that Silva was pregnant in August 2018. A month later, she confirmed her pregnancy via Instagram.

“A very special moment just a few minutes ago … Getting blessings for our precious to come,” she wrote alongside a photo of Gere, who is a Buddhist, and the Dalai Lama placing their hands on her baby bump in the Netherlands on September 16. “We couldn’t announce it before telling HH Dalai Lama.”

Shortly after Gere and Silva wed, the twosome opened up to HOLA! magazine about their relationship.

“I have found the quiet and happy life that I have always sought,” the Runaway Bride actor said.

Silva added that Gere brought new meaning to her life. “I was a little lost, without light, and knowing him gave meaning to my life,” she told the mag. “It was feeling that someone was reaching out and showing me my true path.”
