Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany gave birth to their “little princess” on Monday and while labor went “amazing,” the mom says she’s been dealing with some post-delivery complications.

The one-time American Idol contestant shared the update on social media Thursday. Along with a photo of her swollen feet, she wrote, “When your labor goes amazing… but then things go south.”

She continued, “Still hospital living with my trooper of a hubs and a precious little girl,” referring to new addition Navy Rome. “One blood transfusion… and swollen everything.” She didn’t elaborate on why the transfusion was necessary.

Despite her apparent discomfort, her post also had a gif that said, “#WorthIt.”

The country singer and his wife announced the arrival of their second child together on Monday. Jason wrote that the baby, who joins their 14-month-old son Memphis, completes their family. He also has two daughters, Keeley and Kendyl, from his first marriage.

On Tuesday, the couple posted a photo of Navy and Memphis meeting each other for the first time. The little boy was wearing a “big brother” shirt and gave the baby a sweet nuzzle.

The Aldeans were candid about undergoing in vitro fertilization to have both Memphis and Navy. Brittany shared that after going through the IVF process for more than a year the first go-round, she was diagnosed with endometriosis. Once that was treated, they had success. “The IVF was probably harder than the actual pregnancy, for me, because it was just such a roller coaster and so difficult,” she said on the Babes and Babies podcast last April.

Jason revealed in July that they did IVF again so that their children could be close in age. “We knew we wanted to have two kids,” Aldean told People last year. “I have my two older daughters already, so after Memphis was born we knew we wanted to have another one pretty quick — to go ahead and knock it out and have one that was a little closer in age to him.”
