Jennifer Lawrence gave Brie Larson brutally honest advice after her Oscar win

Winning an Academy Award is a big deal, but in truth, it's not really a life-changing event.

After taking home a Best Actress statue for "Room" in 2016, Brie Larson found herself feeling confused and self-conscious.

"I was like, 'I don't feel any different, I don't feel better about myself. I still don't feel like a good actress,'" Larson told InStyle, recalling a conversation she had with Jennifer Lawrence, who took home her own Best Actress statue three years prior.

Lawrence had a simple response.

"She was like, ‘Oh, yeah. That’s totally normal. I’ve had the same thing. Don’t think of it like that. Think of it as, like, you got your Ph.D. You’re certified; that’s it," the "Captain Marvel" star said.

And in true J-Law fashion, she threw a bit of French: "'It doesn’t change anything. You can still f— up. Every judge is still human.'"

Lawrence, 28, isn't the only one who's offered sage wisdom to 29-year-old Larson: As she prepared for the release of "Captain Marvel," Larson received a few words of wisdom from a fitting Marvel colleague -- Mr. Captain America himself.

Chris Evans told Larson that the sudden international fame can be overwhelming, but she should try to think of all the excitement as though it were "happening to somebody else."

Larson's tried to adopt the strategy. When she sees imagery of herself on billboards and merchandise, "I don't think, 'Look, that's me!' I think, 'Oh, that's odd.'"

"Captain Marvel" hits theaters March 8.
