Tom Brady couldn't 'win' Ivanka Trump, says Donald Trump

Did Tom Brady once try to woo Ivanka Trump?

According to Donald Trump's former campaign adviser Jason Miller, he did. During an appearance on the Omnishambles podcast, Miller recounted the time that Donald reportedly called Brady during the 2016 presidential race.

The New England Patriots quarterback didn't pick up the phone, so the future president left a voicemail instead.

"You're the greatest of all time, you're the best," Trump reportedly said. "I hope you're having a great birthday, you're such a great person."

Then came the kicker.

"There was one thing you weren't able to do: Ivanka chose Jared," he added. "That's the only thing that you weren't able to win at."

Of course, regardless of whether or not he was ever interested in Ivanka, Brady eventually went on to marry supermodel Gisele Bündchen in 2009, the same year that Ivanka married Jared Kushner. Brady shares two children with Bündchen and one child with ex Bridget Moynahan.

The quarterback has long been friendly with the former host of "The Apprentice," who he first met in 2002 when he served as a judge in one of Trump's beauty pageants. The two reportedly remained friendly and frequently played golf with one another up until Trump declared his candidacy for president.

Brady incited outrage when a Make America Great Again hat was spotted in his locker.

"Am I going to vote for him? That's a good question," Brady said of Trump in 2015. "He's a good friend and we've had a lot of time on the golf course together over the years. ... It's pretty amazing what he's been able to accomplish as an entrepreneur, and then really as a television star, and now running for political office."

Following backlash and his wife's increasingly outspoken comments against Trump, Brady changed his tune in 2016, though: "I don't want to get into it, but if you know someone it doesn't mean you agree with everything they say or they do," he said vaguely. "I don't believe in a lot of things. Not to denounce anything. There are different things."

After his team won the Super Bowl in 2017, he declined the usual White House visit because of his mom being sick.
