New 'RHONY' addition Barbara Kavovit hits back at 'nasty' Ramona Singer (Exclusive)

Barbara Kavovit, who joins "The Real Housewives of New York" for season 11 as a friend of the cast, is responding to original cast member Ramona Singer's recent "nasty" comments about her.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, which you can watch at the top of the page, Singer seemingly shaded Kavovit when the interviewer mistakenly referred to her as a "new housewife."

"She's not a housewife. She's just a friend, so she's not a new housewife," Singer said. "So I don't even know what she is. I don't want to talk about it. They're not giving her an apple. They're not giving her an apple or anything."

Now, in a statement given exclusively to AOL, Kavovit is responding to Singer's public jab.

"Not surprised at Ramona's response considering she's nasty and condescending to most," Kavovit told AOL. "She's someone who doesn't support other women, even though she brags she does, so this is very on-brand for her."

"Who would say something like this on camera or off? Not a good look!" she added. "One thing I learned from growing up in the Bronx and being a boss lady in construction, I demolish at the job site but I don't tear other people down!"

"The Real Housewives of New York" returns to Bravo on March 6 at 9 p.m. EST
