Rachel Bilson's high school snapshot with Rami Malek is the ultimate glow-up evolution

Late bloomers, rejoice: Here's more proof that it's best not to peak in high school.

The evidence speaks for itself in Rachel Bilson's latest Instagram. It's a throwback pic with her old Notre Dame High School classmate Rami Malek, who's currently up for an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Since the two graduated in the class '99, we can assume the photo was taken just around that time.

"Hey @ramimalek where'd you get that gold chain?" Bilson captioned the photo, referencing an outfit Malek would likely rather forget: A white t-shirt, black corduroy jacket and thin gold necklace.

The "Bohemian Rhapsody" star has a notably different style and physique these days -- which makes sense, since he's 20 years older.

For her part, Bilson is rocking dark red lipstick and what appears to be her natural curly hair.

After graduation, the two went down totally different paths to pursue their careers: Malek went off to study theater at a college in Indiana while Bilson remained in California, landing her breakout role on "The O.C." in 2003.

But way before they'd become famous faces, they were just classmates sharing the Notre Dame hallways in Sherman Oaks. By the way, just a year behind them was Kirsten Dunst, who graduated in 2000 -- and two years under her was future "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee.

Want to dive in even further? McPhee also posted an unexpected throwback photo this week -- with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle! While Markle didn't go to Notre Dame (she went to an all-girls Catholic school), she spent her teenage years doing musical theater, where she and McPhee became friends.

Anyone else suddenly considering a move to Los Angeles? Seems like a fun place to grow up...!
