Grammys 2019: Recording Academy of New York hosts nominee celebration

Grammy nominees who call New York home gathered in Manhattan on Monday for a celebratory night of music.

Local artists, producers, songwriters and other influential figures hit the SECOND at Kimpton Hotel Eventi to honor New York-native nominees for the upcoming 61st Grammy Awards.

Nominees in attendance included Benji Pasek and Joshua Henry, both of whom have received accolade for their work in musical theater.

Also making the rounds were Cody Simpson, Ravi Coltrane and Andy Rourke, and guests enjoyed a performance from Atlantic Records artist ELHAE.

The New York chapter of the Recording Academy is celebrating its own anniversary, marking 60 years of prominence in the music industry.

The 2019 Grammy Awards will air Feb. 10 on CBS.
