Jada Pinkett Smith gets candid about the hard topics on 'Red Table Talk'

Jada Pinkett Smith stopped by BUILD on Thursday to talk about her new Facebook Watch talk show “Red Table Talk.”

The hard-hitting show brings together Jada, her daughter Willow and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris to address hard-hitting issues such as race and sexism. “I felt like it was important to have a platform where we can feel safe… I don’t know if there [are] many platforms where women in general, but specifically black women, can come together to talk about sensitive subjects with safety,” Jada explained when asked what inspired her to create this show.

"Red Table Talk" has earned a lot of public attention for talking about uncomfortable subjects, and they have no intention of slowing down. When asked about what was on the horizon, Jada revealed that the new season plans to tackle colorism, aspects of self-hatred, infidelity, and the effects of molestation. “Even though they are not easy, we can learn to talk about them[hard topics] with consideration, we can learn to talk about them with respect and love, even in our anger,” Jada said. "It's also a place to learn how to communicate."
