Best Actress nominee Glenn Close, 71, is feeling 'sexual and eager as ever'

Glenn Close is celebrating her Oscar nomination with a bit more than a cup of tea.

Close, 71, chatted candidly about her sex life with The Guardian, revealing that she feels "as sexual and as eager as I ever have."

"It's one of the great myths that you lose your sexuality as you get older," Close mused. "One night last year, I was coming across town from the East Village to the West. It was late on a Friday night and there were a lot of couples on the street ... I could feel what all those couples were feeling. I could feel their excitement, the sense of intimacy about to happen. It was extremely powerful.”

Close, who is nominated for Best Actress for her role in "The Wife," isn't in denial about her age; rather, it motivates her to live with more passion and enthusiasm.

"I feel as free and as creative, as sexual and as eager, as I ever have. And it’s ironic because I’m thinking: ‘How much time do I have left now?’" she said. "It’s one of those ironies, I suppose, that we sometimes start feeling comfortable in our own skin only late in our lives, but hopefully with enough time to benefit from it."

Close is currently single, although she's quite busy with her pet pup, Pip -- he even has his own Instagram. (His full name is Sir Pippin of Beanfield.)

Close wed three times and most recently divorced in 2015. Her daughter, Annie Stark, has followed in her mom's footsteps to become an actress.

Close's nod for "The Wife" marks her seventh Academy Award nomination. She holds the record for having more nominations without a win than any other living actor.
