Meghan Markle's half-brother arrested for DUI days after inviting her to wedding

Thomas Markle Jr. was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol early Friday morning, TMZ reports.

Meghan Markle's half-brother, 52, was reportedly stopped by Oregon State Police at 1:33 a.m. on Friday and brought him into custody after administering a field sobriety test.

"They say his impairment was obvious," the outlet reported. "They say he was visibly intoxicated and blew well over the legal limit."

Authorities eventually took him to the Grants Pass Sobering Center before impounding his Chevy Silverado. He works as a window fitter in the area.

Markle's DUI arrest comes just days after he invited his half-sister and her husband, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, to his upcoming spring wedding. He told DailyMailTV that Harry and Meghan are welcome at his March wedding to fiancée Darlene Blount, who he's been with for two years.

"Absolutely I think our wedding will bring the family closer together," he explained. "It's helpful that if Meghan and Harry came and my father ... Meghan and Harry could spend some time together with him and that would be good."

The wedding is slated to take place in Reno or Las Vegas.
