Rami Malek responds to awkward Nicole Kidman moment

Rami Malek may have won big at this year's Golden Globes, but that's not why people can't stop talking about him.

In case you missed it, the "Bohemian Rhapsody" star was embarrassed by Nicole Kidman when she seemingly snubbed him on stage. The clip has been blowing up the internet, but Malek had no idea it was such a big deal until his visit to "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" last night.

"I had not seen that,” Malek said, putting his face in his hands as Kimmel replayed the clip in slo-mo.

He defended his actions though, insisting that he and Kidman have actually been friends years, "Despite as it may seem from that video,” Malek laughed. "So I thought I could easily go up and say hi. But in a moment like that, it was very awkward."

He took it in stride though, jokingly saying,"I have a feeling this is probably haunting me on the Internet.”
