Will Meghan Markle return for 'Suits' cameo? Network would donate millions on her behalf if she did

Will Meghan Markle return to "Suits" for one last hurrah?

The Daily Star reports that, if USA Network's parent company NBCUniversal gets its wish, the Duchess of Sussex will indeed step back into Rachel Zane's heels one more time. NBC is reportedly so intent on getting Meghan back for a short cameo that they'd be willing to make a multi-million dollar donation to her charity of choice in exchange for the appearance.

"We could be done in half a day or less," a source told the outlet of the plan for Meghan's proposed return. "No final figure has yet been arrived at, but negotiations are likely to be opened in the very near future."

"I've heard sums ranging from two to six million being kicked around and that sounds a lot -- but it would be one of the biggest marketing coups in TV history," the NBC insider added.

The source went on to say that the appearance would likely be filmed in London to make it as appealing to Meghan as possible, noting that Meghan being pregnant would add more depth to the storyline.

"We could create a storyline where Rachel and [husband] Mike [Ross] have created new lives for themselves and are starting a family, with Rachel showing an obvious baby bump," the insider explained. "I believe we could get away with only one or two lines from Rachel, perhaps saying how she would never have believed she would have such a wonderful life. This particular route would beautifully mirror real life."

Meghan's final episode of "Suits" aired on April 25, 2018, just weeks before she married Prince Harry at Windsor Castle. Several of her former cast mates, including Patrick J. Adams, who played Meghan's on-screen husband, Mike, attended the internationally-watched nuptials.

Another source told the Daily Star that bringing Meghan and Patrick back to the show -- even for a brief moment -- is something that executives are desperate for amid dropping ratings.

"It's a bit of an open secret that they'd do anything to get [them] back as guest stars," the source said.

Considering that Meghan has shifted her focus to impending motherhood and her various charity endeavors as a newly-minted royal, we'll believe this one when we see it.
