Jimmy Kimmel pledges to hire government employees until shutdown ends

On Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night, Jimmy Kimmel opened the show discussing day 17 of the government shutdown and his resolution for the nearly 800,000 federal employees working without pay.

With President Trump and the congressional Democrats making little progress in negotiations to end the shutdown, federal employees have begun to really feel the brunt of it, and Kimmel had some words.

"Humpty Trumpty is very focused on his wall," said Kimmel, who noted that the government employees going without pay is "what Donald Trump does best. Not paying the people who work for him, that is where he shines." So, Kimmel announced his very generous idea.
