Miss USA is about to become a Mrs.!

Sarah Rose Summers, the Nebraska native who competed in this year's Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, revealed Thursday that her boyfriend popped the question earlier this month.

"Wow. I knew Thailand would change my life, but what I did not realize was that it would also be where I begin a new lifelong journey," she wrote. "On Dec. 17, now only did I represent my country on an international stage, but I also said yes to forever with my best friend."

"It was the most perfect day with a breathtaking view, both of our families, some of our closest friends, and a celebratory dinner on the top of the world," Summers gushed of the engagement on Instagram.

The 24-year-old placed in the Top 20 during this year's Miss Universe competition. The coveted title ultimately went to Catriona Gray of the Philippines.

Summers was the subject of unanticipated controversy during the pageant's preliminaries after a video emerged in which she appeared to mock other contestants for knowing little English.

"In a moment where I intended to admire the courage of a few of my sisters, I said something that I now realize can be perceived as not respectful, and I apologize," Summers later wrote in an apology.
