Demi Lovato tops Google's list of 10 top-trending people of 2018

Curiosity -- and concern -- got the best of all of us this year.

Demi Lovato is the top-trending person of the year, according Google's 2018 Year in Search. The pop star suffered a near-fatal drug overdose in July, sparking endless headlines about her status and recovery.

Lovato also landed the No. 9 spot in the top 10 overall searches. The other names on the list are Mac Miller, Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain and Stan Lee -- all stars who passed away this year.

Who are the other nine names on the list of top-trending people? Most are from Hollywood, but not all: In fact, beating out almost every other celebrity was Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. See the top 10 in the gallery below.
