And the most streamed songs of the year are...

Amazon Music announced the top artists of 2018 on its streaming platform, Amazon Music Unlimited, this week, based on the most-streamed artists by genre and voice requests with Alexa.

The overall winner was, unsurprisingly, Drake, who has dominated the music industry in the current streaming era. His No. 1, "God's Plan," was the single most-requested song on Amazon Music Unlimited this year.

When broken down by genre, the top-streamed artists are, of course, a more varied bunch: Ariana Grande, who followed up this summer's "sweetener" album with her first-ever No. 1 hit, "thank u, next," was the top pop artist, while Jason Aldean reigned supreme in country. Panic! at the Disco, who made a highly-anticipated comeback with "High Hopes," topped the alternative list, Bad Wolves were the best in rock and J Balvin was the top-streamed latin artist.

In conjunction with the reveal of its most streamed artists on Amazon Music Unlimited, the streaming service also premiered its comprehensive Best of the Year playlists, which offer a more in-depth look at the top tunes of 2018.
